Privacy policy

Effective October 20, 2026

The short version: the answers you enter in the benefits finder never leave your browser. We don't ask for your name, we don't create accounts, and we don't sell information about you.

Your answers stay on your device

The finder works entirely inside your web browser. Your answers about age, income, housing, veteran status and other details are used on your device to show matching programs. They are not sent to us or stored on our servers, and they disappear when you close or reload the page.

What our hosting provider records

Our website is hosted by Cloudflare. Like nearly all websites, Cloudflare automatically processes basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. This does not include your answers in the finder. Cloudflare's own privacy policy describes how it handles this data.

Cookies

The site does not set cookies for tracking or advertising. If we add analytics or advertising in the future, we will update this policy first and explain what is collected and how to opt out.

Links to other websites

Program listings link to government agencies, utilities and nonprofits. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we don't control. Applications you submit go directly to them, not to us.

Children

This site is meant for adults looking for help for themselves or their families. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. For privacy questions, email contact@benefitsearch.org.
